Change since 2012

Ohio has now spent two consecutive elections sitting more than ten points to the right of the national result. The bellwether relationship has inverted: the state no longer tells you what the country is doing.

From 1912 through 2012, Ohio sided with the winning presidential candidate in every election except 1944 and 1960.
